To celebrate the anniversary of the Fair Housing Act, the Los Angeles Board of Supervisors recognized the work of the Shriver Housing Project, an NLSLA-led collaborative of four legal services programs providing representation to people facing eviction in some of Los Angeles’ poorest neighborhoods.

“There’s no doubt that the Shriver Housing Project of Los Angeles reflects the true spirit of the Fair Housing Act,” said L.A. County Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas, who presented the Shriver Housing Project with a special commendation. “Neighborhood Legal Services of L.A. County, Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles, Public Counsel, Inner City Law Center, and the Los Angeles Superior Court–they are stellar all by themselves, but together they are a mighty force for good.”
